"This food was fantastic. Schnitzel was spot on, and the red cabbage was exactly like I remember. "

"Another great meal 5 months later. Great, authentic German food in a nice atmosphere. Best restaurant in French Lick. Came in at closing and they served us! "

"Ordered the chef salad and the German sample platter and a weihenstephaner hefe weissbier, and it was all good. "

"Walked here from the resort after a conference. Walked in at 835 and were happy to serve me even though they closed at 9. Definitely fantastic schnitzel. Food was prompt with great service. "

"Loved this restaurant. Great atmosphere with fun old-time décor. The food was exceptional. Our party got the family-style meal--highly recommend! It's a lot of food but our party of four left clean dishes. The prices are reasonable. "

"Amazing! The food was amazing if you are ever in French Lick. This is a must-go-to! I had schnitzel with mushrooms and gravy seasoned well. Simply great flavor. My wife had the Hungarian Goulash. Wow, was it good. Service was great, interesting decor, and, most important, GREAT FOOD! This is a must-go-to. "

"Great food! Authentic Bavarian cuisine. The decor looks like everyone's German grandmother, but I loved it as the owners are from very close to where I grew up so the trinkets were familiar. The variety platters are huge; the spaetzle was especially authentic. You won't be disappointed with the Hefe Von Fab. "

"Very well-done German cuisine. Schnitzel was the best I've had in the US. We ate there twice in our two days to French Lick. Family owned and operated, it's an all-around great restaurant (and kid friendly). "

"Wonderful food! Very authentic to our actual German travels. A terrific alternative to the resort restaurants. The schnitzel and hunter gravy were sheer perfection, and the goulash and spaetzle took me back to Bavaria for a few wonderful moments!! "

After coming to the United States in 2009, we opened our restaurant in Paoli, IN in August of 2010. Our family-owned and operated restaurant later moved to our current location in January. We are run by a husband chef, wife baker, and daughter and daughter-in-law servers.
